Christina Applegate’s recent disclosures about her battle with multiple sclerosis are deeply concerning. After previously discussing her struggle with Dax Shepard, she revealed on her podcast that she’s currently experiencing a relapse possibly exacerbated by her addiction.

Expressing her fear about her worsening symptoms, she described feeling discomfort and worry, fearing her eye might burst from her face. The severity of her leg condition is also alarming, leaving her with a lack of energy and an inability to alleviate the pain or improve circulation, leading to a depressive state where she feels trapped in a dark room, wishing for relief.

Since publicly revealing her multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2021, Applegate has made efforts to raise awareness, despite the challenges she faces. She has candidly shared her use of a cane to assist with walking, demonstrating her resilience in confronting the disease’s impact on her daily life.

During her appearance on Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert, Christina Applegate opened up about the immense suffering she endures due to her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Applegate disclosed that she currently has thirty lesions on her brain, with the largest one positioned directly below her right eye. She described the emotional distress caused by this particular lesion as excruciating, labeling it as the worst thing she has ever experienced in her entire life.

The agony is so overwhelming, according to Applegate, that it feels insurmountable. However, she finds the strength to endure it for the sake of her thirteen-year-old daughter, whom she refers to as her reason for getting out of bed each morning. Applegate expressed that her daughter gives her hope and motivation to face each day.

In addition to the lesions on her brain, Christina Applegate faces further challenges with her health. While relieved that the lesions haven’t affected her vision yet, she revealed experiencing unusual sensations in her hand and occasional seizure-like feelings in her brain.

Applegate emphasized the gravity of living with multiple sclerosis, describing it as an unyielding reality. Surgical intervention isn’t an option, and there’s no ceremonial bell to ring after chemotherapy. Instead, it’s a lifelong battle.

She candidly characterized multiple sclerosis as a disease of progression, where symptoms worsen over time. Despite this, she holds onto hope that a breakthrough will emerge within her lifetime. Referring to MS as her “worst tattoo,” Applegate’s resilience shines through as she continues to confront the challenges it presents.

Despite facing a challenging struggle with multiple sclerosis, Christina Applegate expressed her desire to be more open about her experience. She admitted regret over keeping her battle with breast cancer secret back in 2008.

Applegate shared with Dax that she didn’t intend to step away from acting while dealing with multiple sclerosis. However, she found solace in the opportunity to rest, something she hadn’t experienced in decades due to her long career in entertainment.

Despite this, Applegate expressed a desire to continue working rather than dealing with MS if given the choice. The inability to make that decision weighs heavily on her, and she expressed frustration at the cosmic circumstances she finds herself in.
