According to an update from Vanity Fair, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, has “turned a corner” with her cancer treatment and is “doing a lot better.”
Since sharing a video revealing her cancer diagnosis, Kate has mostly stayed out of the public eye, using the time to rest. Apart from Prince William’s assurance during a royal engagement that he is ‘looking after’ his wife, little has been said about her health. However, an insider informed Vanity Fair’s royal author Katie Nicholl that the future Queen has been healing in private, and her preventative chemotherapy has been successful.
“It is a great relief that she is tolerating the medication and is actually doing a lot better,” a family insider disclosed. “It has been a very challenging and worrying time, but everyone—William, her parents, and her sister and brother—has rallied around her.”
Although Kate briefly returned to social media last week to highlight a project she’s involved with, sources indicate that she is not rushing to resume her royal duties.
“There is no timeline and no hurry,” a source said. “It will be when Catherine feels ready and when she gets the green light from her medical team. But she will 100% be coming back to work, of that there is no question.”
The same source mentioned that Kate took to social media to share updates about her project to signal that she was doing well. “Everyone has rallied around” the Princess, including her husband and the Middleton family, who are known for their close-knit bond.
To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a video highlighting the work Kate has been doing privately. Kate has been the “driving force” behind a charity believed to have started before her cancer diagnosis.
Though no images have been published on social media, it has been reported that Kate has been seen “out and about” with her family recently. However, the public should not get too excited, as Kate still needs “space and time.”
“No one wants to put any pressure on Catherine,” an insider told MailOnline last week. “The only thing that matters at the moment is her getting better. She has been through an ordeal this year.”
