Reba McEntire’s rendition of the national anthem left many fans emotional, with one Chiefs defender even brought to tears.
The singer-songwriter delivered a powerful performance just moments before the Super Bowl kicked off on Sunday.
During the CBS broadcast, the camera panned across various players, many of whom kept their heads down, focused on the moment. However, the performance struck a deep chord with Chris Jones, the Chiefs’ two-time All-Pro defensive lineman.
Check out the video: As Reba sings, you can see Chris, number 95 for K.C., with tears streaming down his face. The performance lasted 95 seconds, slightly longer than the 90.5-second over/under line for the sports bettors out there.
Reba’s performance didn’t just move Jones; it resonated with many others. Fans quickly took to Twitter to share their overwhelmingly positive reactions to her singing.
Reba was among several celebrities at the NFL’s biggest game of the season, including Post Malone, Usher, Paul Rudd, Leonardo DiCaprio, and more.
But only one moved Chris Jones to tears, and it’s safe to say he’ll be playing with extra motivation.
