A traffic cop found a skinny dog on the side of the road, barely able to stand on her paws, and realized she needed urgent help.
He immediately contacted animal rights activists, who arrived almost instantly. The exhausted dog was easily lifted into the car and taken to a nearby shelter.
Named Dappy, she was given food and then taken to the vet clinic.
No one knew how Dappy ended up on the streets or why she was so weak. She was extremely underweight and inexperienced in surviving on the streets.
Because of her low weight, treatment was delayed, as it could have been risky. A volunteer took her in and discovered that she was not only physically exhausted but emotionally drained as well.
However, Dappy quickly grew to trust the volunteer, regained her strength, and began eating regularly.
As she gained weight, she received further treatment. Thanks to the care of these compassionate individuals, Dappy is now doing well.
