Kate, the Princess of Wales, has shared an update on her health six months after revealing her cancer diagnosis. In a video message released by Kensington Palace, Kate, 42, expressed relief at completing chemotherapy and spoke about her focus on staying “cancer-free” and slowly returning to work.

“Finishing chemotherapy is such a relief,” Kate said in the video. “The past nine months have been incredibly challenging for our family. Life can change in an instant, and we’ve had to find ways to navigate through it.”

She described her journey as “complex, scary, and unpredictable,” adding that it gave her and Prince William a new perspective. “This time has reminded William and me to appreciate the simple, important things in life—like loving and being loved.”

The video, filmed in August in Norfolk by photographer Will Warr, features intimate moments of the Wales family—Kate, William, and their children George, Charlotte, and Louis—enjoying a picnic and playing outside together. In one scene, they are seen playing a card game with Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.

Kate first announced her cancer diagnosis in March following surgery in January. While she has not publicly disclosed the type of cancer, she did mention undergoing “preventative chemotherapy.” Now, after finishing treatment, she is focusing on her recovery and gradually resuming public duties.

“Although chemotherapy is over, the road to full recovery is long,” Kate explained. “I look forward to taking on more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”

Since her diagnosis, Kate has kept a low public profile, making only a few appearances, including at Trooping the Colour in June and Wimbledon in July. She had previously shared that while making progress, she still faced ongoing treatment for several more months.
