Earlier today, I quickly parked my car in a crowded lot and hurried off to run some errands. 🏃♂️ When I returned about an hour later, something immediately caught my attention — a 50-euro bill tucked neatly beneath my windshield wiper! 😮
At first, I thought it was some kind of random act of kindness. 🤔 Who wouldn’t smile at the sight of unexpected cash? I stood there, pleasantly surprised, wondering what lucky twist of fate had landed it there.

But then, a strange thought crossed my mind. 🕵️♂️ Why would someone leave money on a stranger’s car? It didn’t make sense. Instead of grabbing it, I decided to call a friend of mine who’s familiar with shady city schemes. 📞
His response was quick and firm: “Don’t touch it — it’s a scam!” 😳
He explained a growing tactic being used by thieves, especially during busy, warm-weather months when parking lots are full of distracted drivers.

Here’s the setup: Criminals place a fake — or occasionally real — banknote under the windshield wiper, just visible enough to catch your eye. When the driver sees it, they often get out of the car to retrieve it. 🚶♂️💸
In that brief moment, many forget to remove the key from the ignition or lock the doors. That’s the perfect opportunity for thieves to make their move — jumping in and driving off in seconds. 🚗💨

Even worse? The money is usually counterfeit! 🎭 These criminals take no real risk and simply wait for their next unsuspecting target if the first one doesn’t fall for it.
Authorities have been warning people about this trick. 🚔 Their advice: If you spot money on your windshield, don’t exit your vehicle right away. Keep your keys with you, lock the doors, and stay aware of your surroundings.

Thankfully, because of my friend’s quick warning, I stayed cautious and avoided what could’ve turned into a nightmare. 🙌
I’m sharing this as a heads-up — if you ever come back to your car and find money mysteriously waiting for you, think before you act! 🧠👀 Be safe out there! 🚙💥
