We often believe we know everything about our partners, but every now and then, they still manage to surprise us. One woman recently revealed a harmless little secret she’s been keeping from her husband.
While out enjoying a meal at a restaurant, her phone was running low on battery, so she turned it off to conserve power. Later, during their drive home, she suddenly realized she couldn’t find it.
She rummaged through her purse and searched around the car, but the phone was nowhere to be found. Worried, she persuaded her husband to drive all the way—an hour back—to the restaurant.
Once there, the manager assisted them in thoroughly searching the place. Her husband, clearly irritated, tried to remain patient. Still, the phone didn’t turn up. Then, out of the blue, she discovered it tucked away in her jacket pocket.
Too embarrassed to admit her mistake, she decided to keep it to herself.
She slipped away to the restroom and came back with a made-up explanation, telling her husband, “It was sitting on the toilet tank.”
To this day, he has no idea the phone was with her the whole time. Although she feels a bit guilty about it, the fear of embarrassment has kept her from confessing the truth.
