My husband’s daughter is 19, and I feel it’s time for her to move out, but she refuses to leave my home. Since she’s staying, I suggested she could at least help by babysitting our two-year-old while my husband and I work full-time. She snapped back, saying, “I’m not your free nanny, I have a life!” My husband, to my frustration, stayed completely silent.
The very next day, I came home and rushed to check on my baby—only to find the crib empty and the house quiet. My heart dropped. In a panic, I called my husband. That’s when he revealed he had rented a small studio apartment and moved in with his daughter after I insisted she move out. He told me I could come pick up our child, but he had chosen to stay with her, claiming she had “no one else.”
I was furious. His daughter has turned into someone entitled, treating my home like a free hotel and refusing to contribute. Yet my husband seems more concerned with enabling her than supporting me.
It’s been a week now since he left, and he hasn’t come back. I feel abandoned, frustrated, and unsure what steps to take next.
