“Jade De Rijcke, a 14-year-old singer, wowed the judges on “The Voice Kids Belgium” before going on to win the whole 2018 competition.
Both De Rijcke and her coach, Gers Pardoel, should be proud of this win. Pardoel’s first year as a coach was in 2018. With the help of De Rijcke and his other singers, Pardoel beat out coaches with more experience and helped his student become a star.
De Rijcke’s first single came out in April 2019 after she won. Straw House was the name of the single, and it was about a close relationship. Straw House was different because it was the first song that De Riecke wrote on his own. She had done it many times before. She may have written original songs before, but this was the first time she recorded one.
Many people who watch “The Voice Kids” may not know that De Rijcke has been on the show before. In 2017, she tried out, but she didn’t get past the blind auditions. De Rijcke later said that her nerves got the best of her and that she was upset that her audition wasn’t even shown on TV.
But De Rijcke didn’t let that get her down. Instead, she went back to training and gave it another try, which went better than she could have imagined. Sometimes a failure is all it takes to get a performer, or anyone else, to put in the hard work that is needed to succeed at anything.
The “Road to” videos show how one contestant did on the show over the course of their time there. It’s a good way to look back on an artist’s career and collect all of their songs in one place. “Homesick” by Dua Lipa was the song De Rijcke chose to sing at the blind audition.
“Homesick” is a slow, sad, piano-driven ballad about a woman who is away from her lover and longs to get back to him, even though there are hard things in her way and she feels alone. Just like De Rijcke kept working steadily toward her goal, which was to win the competition, the woman in this song won’t give up on her search for her lover.
Demi Lovato’s “Sober” was the song De Rijcke chose for the semi-final. This sad song is about Lovato’s problems with drinking. She talks about some of the things she did that she regrets and says that she is afraid she won’t be able to stop drinking. Even though just because someone sings a song doesn’t mean they live it, this is still a brave choice for someone as young as De Rijcke. She took care of it with her usual level head.
Nicki Minaj’s “Grand Piano” was the last song De Rijcke played on the show. In this song, a woman asks her lover if he has been honest and true in their relationship. The singer also spends a lot of time looking at her to see if she has done anything stupid. It seems like one of De Rijcke’s favorite things to write about is troubled relationships.
Even though all of her songs are sad and full of anger, Jade De Rijcke has overcome her problems and won a competition that at one point it seemed impossible for her to win. This is a very inspiring story, and watching the video will help you see what a future champion looks like.”
