Neal McDonough, a famous actor in Hollywood, recently said that being shunned by the industry made him start his own film company. McDonough is best known for playing Malcolm Beck in Yellowstone, Timothy “Dum Dum” Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger, and General James Harding in Project Blue Book.
The actor from Yellowstone who is also a strong Christian has said that he was blacklisted from Hollywood in 2010. He “lost pretty much everything” as a result of being fired from ABC’s Scoundrels TV show because he wouldn’t go against his religious beliefs and do scenes with kissing and other things that were against his beliefs.
The actor said that his faith kept him going when things were hard in his career. “I remember falling to my knees and asking God, “Why have you forgotten about me?” Why am I getting so much trouble?'” He thought back. “As soon as I said those words, I realized how self-centered those questions were,” McDonough said.
I have gotten so much from God. We all experience challenges in our lives. “I should be thankful and grateful for all the good things that happen to me,” the actor said. Bounding into Comics said that McDonough has already talked about how he won’t give up his faith, so this isn’t the first time he’s talked about it.
McDonough said in January 2020, “I won’t use the Lord’s name in vain, and then I won’t kiss another woman.” “I’m not interested in s-x scenes. And I think, “Gosh, there are enough s-x scenes out there,” and being in my fifties, I’m not sure if anyone wants to see me doing that stuff anyway, but it’s a comfort level. “I don’t feel very good about doing that,” he said at the time.
“I think that’s probably why I play so many bad guys,” McDonough said. “I love acting, and I’m really good at it.” “It’s a gift from God, so if I want to make a living doing what I do, I have to be creative, smart, and wise about it,” he said.
McDonough told The Christian Post earlier this month that because he doesn’t want to do those scenes, he makes it a point to make sure that his villainous roles make him stand out. The actor said, “It’s hard because I’ve played so many different roles and done so many different things, and in some of them I play horrible villains, and I won’t do kissing scenes, so I have to be the best villain out there.”
McDonough said that his wife of almost 20 years, Ruvé, is the main reason why he won’t kiss his co-stars. “These lips are for one woman,” he admitted, adding that kissing scenes won’t be a problem anymore now that the couple has started making a movie. The actor said that he now has that chance because “Ruvé and I are doing it ourselves, and we are so blessed to have companies that support us and want to make more movies, TV shows, reality shows, or any kind of show that gives glory to [God].”
“Our goal is not just to make a movie, but to make a movie that gives God glory. “That’s what we want, and we’re very lucky to be able to do it,” he said.
