The 16-year-old girl was crushed when her prom date called to say he couldn’t go. But luckily, her mom came to the rescue with a plan to make things right.

There are a lot of fun things to do in high school, like football games on Friday nights and pep rallies.

But prom is likely the one that most young girls are most excited about.
You stop believing in fairy tales and prince charming when you get older.

Even so, it’s still fun to get dressed up and dance with your date as your first taste of being an adult.

For some people, prom doesn’t always live up to their hopes.
Take Isabelle Knowlton as an example, whose date canceled on her at the last minute.

We all know how hard it is when someone lets you down, but Isabelle’s mom felt even worse about it.

Isabelle uses a wheelchair and doesn’t talk much, so it wasn’t easy to set up another date quickly.

Syndi, Isabelle’s mom, had to step in and try to find a date for her daughter at the last minute.

She posted a short message on Facebook with a picture of the prom flyer and a beautiful picture of Isabelle. The message said:

“My sweet daughter Isabelle is 16 years old and has to use a wheelchair. We’ve been talking about prom, and her date can’t go now. Does this beautiful girl know any young men who might want to go to the prom with her?”

Syndi may not have thought she would get much of a response, but she was wrong.
In fact, Syndi’s post got so much attention right away that she was soon flooded with potential dates.

Syndi updated her post to say that she was “overwhelmed and crying from all the love for my cutie.”

She also gave the impression that she’d found her daughter the “perfect date.”

She said in the comments that Isabelle had already been asked by six guys to go to prom with them.

Carson Preece was the boy Syndi chose for her daughter in the end.
Trina, Carson’s proud mom, wrote on Facebook about what led up to her son and daughter’s big day:

“THIS BOY! A few weeks ago, I was crying, and Carson asked me what was wrong. I told him about a Facebook post from a mother of a 16-year-old girl with special needs who was looking for a prom date for her daughter. He told his mother, “I’ll do it!”

He told Isabelle he would help her decorate her room the day before prom, and he kept his promise.
The cute pictures of them together would make any parent happy.
Isabelle was named Dutchess, and the two had a great night. After that, Isabelle and Carson went to Isabelle’s room where they watched cartoons together.

Trina was there to see every important event, and she remembered:

“Izzie is a sweet girl who can’t talk, uses a wheelchair, eats through a tube, and doesn’t talk much. But there were times when she looked into Carson’s eyes and lit up like the 4th of July… “Well, he did, too!”

It’s a humble brag from a mom, but if you were Trina, wouldn’t you do the same?

Syndi was eager to talk about the favors that people in her neighborhood had done for her. She said that one person bought the tickets, another did her hair and makeup, and a third bought flowers.

We don’t hear about communities coming together as much as we used to, which makes this story even more lovely.
