While on a business trip to Los Angeles, Mary was completely unaware that her husband was having an affair with a hotel maid. But the situation takes a dark turn when they both realize that the maid has a sinister plan to ruin their lives.

Michael glanced at his watch and closed his laptop, pausing his commissioned art project in anticipation of his guest’s arrival. The cluttered hotel room didn’t bother him; his priority was taking a shower and changing into a casual outfit. A knock on the door signaled the arrival of his guest—Lucy, the maid.

If Michael had known the truth about Lucy, he never would have slept with her. But his lust clouded his judgment. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her passionately before closing the door behind them.

Lucy despised Michael’s touch, but her focus was solely on her revenge. She knew this was her best chance to get back at the couple for what they had done to her.

“I’ve been counting down the days until Friday when you’d finally come back to me,” he said, pulling her onto the bed.

“I’ve been waiting too, my darling. I wish we could do this every day,” Lucy replied, hiding her disgust.

Their moment was interrupted by a loud knock on the door.

“Did you order anything?”

“No,” Lucy shook her head.

When Michael answered the door, his face went pale. His wife, Mary, had unexpectedly returned from her business trip. “Surprise!” she shouted.

“Mary, my beloved wife!” Michael exclaimed, panic setting in as he tried to prevent her from entering the bedroom, where Lucy was hiding. But Mary wasn’t fooled.

“Enough with the lies. Where is she?” Mary demanded, pushing past him. She had long suspected his infidelity.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Michael said, trying to sound casual. But Mary ignored him and headed toward the en suite bathroom. Michael knew he had only seconds to distract her.

“Honey, let’s go down to the hotel restaurant and talk about this…”

Mary flung open the bathroom door, but it was empty. Although the bed was disheveled, suggesting Michael’s secret rendezvous, Lucy was nowhere to be found.

“See, there’s no one here, honey. You’re just overthinking things. The stress from work is making you paranoid.”

Mary sighed, and Michael noticed the tension leave her body. She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck.

“If you love me and only me, prove it,” she challenged.

Michael pushed her onto the bed, whispering flirtatiously. Mary laughed, but their moment was interrupted by a ringing phone under the bed.

“Whose phone is that?” Mary asked, pushing him away.

“Oh, uh… it’s mine,” Michael stammered.

Michael quickly reached under the bed where the phone had fallen earlier while he and Lucy were busy. Fortunately, Lucy handed him the phone from under the bed.

“You see? I just changed the ringtone,” Michael said. “That way, I can tell when it’s a work call or when my beloved Mary is calling.”

Mary sat up, her suspicion returning. Michael noticed and quickly pointed out a sticker on his phone. “Remember this? You got it for me at a charity fair. I may have changed the ringtone, but my love for you hasn’t changed.”

“It’s just strange… I swear I smelled a woman’s perfume…” Mary murmured.

Michael put his arm around Mary, and she rested her head on his shoulder. “There’s nobody here, and there never was. Maybe it’s just the air freshener.”

Mary glanced up at the little device near the bedroom entrance. “Maybe you’re right,” she nodded.

Michael tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “You just need some fresh air. Let’s go have lunch, and then later… I’ll show you just how much I love you.”

“Okay.” Mary smiled and kissed his cheek. “I’ll take a stroll around the pool and be right back.”

Michael sighed in relief as Mary left. “That was close!” Lucy exclaimed, crawling out from under the bed.

Later that evening, Lucy pushed her cleaning cart down a hotel corridor, satisfied with her plan against Michael. But suddenly, Mary appeared.

“Hi,” Lucy replied nervously.

“How do you like my husband?” Mary asked, her eyes cold.

Lucy paled, wondering if Mary had suspected something. No, she thought. My plan can’t fail.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, do you like him?” Mary’s eyes glittered with icy rage.

“No! I mean, yes… er, no. I just meant no,” Lucy stammered. “He’s just a regular guest. We’re not allowed to have personal relationships with guests. I could lose my job.”

Mary smirked. “Oh! I’m just kidding!”

Lucy smiled in relief, but Mary wasn’t finished. “Did you see my husband with anyone today or last Friday?”

“No, ma’am. I didn’t see anyone,” Lucy replied.

“I need to see the hallway security footage.”

“I’m sorry, but hotel policy doesn’t allow that,” Lucy declined.

“There’s a nice tip in it for you.”

“No, I can’t,” Lucy insisted.

“Then I’ll just have to speak to the security guard myself,” Mary said. “I’ll tell them I… lost my wallet. I’m sure they’ll be happy to assist.”

Lucy panicked, knowing she’d be in even more trouble if the security staff found her on camera with Michael. “D-Don’t do that. The guard… won’t be able to help. I’ll assist you.”

Lucy managed to get into the surveillance room with the help of an old colleague. She sat at the console while Mary directed, “Rewind the footage to around 11 this morning.”

“Okay,” Lucy hesitated.

With trembling hands, she played the footage showing her pushing the cleaning cart down the hallway. “Nothing unusual here,” she said.

“So I see,” Mary replied, studying the black-and-white video. “Let’s watch further.”

As they watched, Lucy dusted a painting in the hallway, time ticking on the timestamp.

Lucy took the opportunity to text Michael for backup, and Mary’s phone rang just in time.

“Yeah, honey?” Mary answered, stepping aside.

On-screen, Lucy returned to Michael’s door, smoothing her uniform. Michael stepped out, kissing her passionately.

Mary, preoccupied with her call, didn’t notice the kiss. Lucy’s heart raced as Mary began searching her purse for keys.

Mary found the keys and looked up just as Lucy playfully pushed Michael back into his room.

“I went into the room across the hall to clean it. And there you are,” Lucy added, pointing to Mary’s arrival.

Mary sighed and apologized for her suspicions, heading for the door. But she froze when Lucy’s phone rang.

“One more thing,” Mary said, glaring at Lucy. “Get someone to carry my luggage. I’m leaving for a business trip.”

Lucy complied, and after Mary left, she breathed a sigh of relief. It was time for the next phase of her plan.

Back in the hotel room, Michael’s heart raced as his phone buzzed. The screen displayed an unknown number, but he knew who it was—the blackmailer. He took a deep breath and answered.

“Hello?” Michael’s voice shook.

“Michael, my friend. Ready for our final transaction?”

Michael looked around the room nervously. “Yes, yes. I have the money.”

The blackmailer’s voice turned menacing. “Good. You know the drill. This is the last one, Michael. Make it count.”

Michael clenched his jaw, sweat forming on his forehead. “I’ve kept my end of the deal. After this, you leave me alone, right?”

The blackmailer chuckled. “If the money’s in the right account, you won’t hear from me again.”

Michael sighed. “You’ll get it. Just give me a moment.”

He ended the call, his hands trembling as he logged into Mary’s bank account. He had been siphoning money from her for months, justifying it as necessary to keep the blackmailer at bay. This time, he needed another $50,000.

“Mary won’t notice,” he muttered.

He initiated the transfer, but just as he was about to finish, the phone buzzed again. The blackmailer called back, the robotic voice grating on Michael’s nerves.

“What’s taking so long, Michael?”

“I’m doing it now. You’ll get your money,” Michael snapped.

The blackmailer chuckled ominously. “Remember, this is the last time. If you fail, your affair’s evidence will be in your wife’s hands.”

“I know,” Michael replied, his voice strained. “Once this is done, we’re done.”

As Michael completed the transfer, he couldn’t shake the feeling that his dark secret was closing in on him. When it was over, he stared at the $0 balance. Little did he know, this was far from over. The web of lies he had spun was tightening faster than he could have imagined.

Later, Michael returned to his room after a few drinks. Seeing Lucy cleaning near the bed, he couldn’t resist.

“Oh, babe, now that my wife’s gone, we have the place to ourselves,” he said, reaching for Lucy’s hip.

A knock interrupted.

“Not now!” he groaned.

“As I was saying,” he leaned closer to Lucy, “we have the whole night.”

But the knocking continued.

After another knock, Michael opened the door, ready to dismiss whoever it was.

To his shock, Lucy was also standing at the door.

“Lucy? Then who’s in my room?”

He turned around to see Mary in the same uniform. Panic set in.

Mary arched an eyebrow. “Hello, husband!”

“Mary! You look amazing,” Michael stammered.

“Guess what? You’re busted!” Mary sneered.

Lucy, from the door, was equally stunned. Mary tossed her uniform aside.

“It’s over, Lucy. And you, Michael, are going to pay for everything!” Mary declared.

Lucy, teary-eyed, grabbed Michael’s hand.

“Sorry, Michael. You know what you did,” she said before leaving.

Mary, infuriated, hurled a vase at him.

“Get out of my sight!”

After a cold stare, Michael ran for the door, but Mary blocked him.

“Wait, Mary! I was blackmailed! It’s not my fault!”

“Sure! And pigs can fly! Get out of my life, Michael!”

Without another word, Michael fled. As the door closed, Mary smiled, having caught her prey.

With the hotel room empty, Mary opened her bag and found a love note from Michael to Lucy. Her rage reignited.

“Lucy, you’re next!” she seethed, vowing to confront her soon.

Downstairs, Lucy found her own hotel room. Michael’s phone rang in her pocket, the blackmailer’s number displayed. A plan began to form.

“I think we need to talk,” Lucy muttered.

Michael’s fate was sealed, but the chaos was far from over. Would Mary forgive him? Or would Lucy’s revenge consume them all?
