Asanda Jezile is a London-based singer. From Eastern Cape, South Africa, her parents moved to the UK. She made it to the final round of the seventh season of Britain’s Got Talent, but she came in last. Asanda sang “Diamonds” by Rihanna when she tried out for Britain’s Got Talent.

In the semi-final on May 31, she sang “Halo” by Beyoncé Knowles and again won over both the crowd and the judges. Simon Cowell said she has the “wow factor,” and Alesha Dixon called her “unbelievable.”

She made it into the top three, and the judges had to choose between her and Alex Keirl for the second spot in the final from that semi-final, since Francine Lewis was already through. Holden chose Keirl, but the other three judges chose Asanda, which means she made it to the final. But the voting numbers that were released after the show showed that Alex Keirl had more votes than Asanda, with 21.4% compared to 19.4%.
