A single dad with a big heart changed the lives of three kids in foster care forever. Before Darryl Andersen took over, the kids had been in foster care for years.

Miquel, who was four years old, Willis, who was six, and Nevaeh, who was nine, all grew up in different foster homes.

Darryl said, “They’re very close and they understand. They’ve been moved 16 times and put in group homes, so they’ve only ever had each other.”

In just 5 short years, the siblings moved 16 times together. Darryl couldn’t sit still when he heard about the kids.

Even though Darryl was a single dad with three kids of his own, he decided to take a leap of faith after getting the blessing of his own kids.

He said that he kept thinking, “There are kids in this world who don’t have a place to call home.”

Where do they go when Christmas comes?’ He didn’t like the idea of these kids being alone so much that he did something about it.

Darryl went on to say, “One of the main things that drives me is that I feel like I have to give back because I have been given so much.” He was so thankful that he had been able to raise his own children, and he wanted to keep giving.

“I want them to know that the past is the past and that they are in charge of their own futures,” Andersen said.

He knows that they had a hard time when they were young, but he wants to change their future.

“We all love you more than the earth,” Darryl’s new kids tell him. Because you’re a great father.
