Riding a large horse is perceived as a substantial task by many folks. But it’s fantastic to see a child doing the same thing enthusiastically. After all, children are exceptional learners who can acquire information quickly.

Something similar happened recently when Kinsley, a 5-year-old girl, wowed her audience while riding a Morgan Draft Cross mare named Ruby. She sat on her horse and rode around a jumping course.

Kinsley expertly guided her horse through a sequence of 2’6″ hurdles on a jumping course. The large horse and the diminutive rider seemed to have a particular affinity. The horse was aware that the rider was not an adult and made certain that she did not gallop too quickly between the hurdles.

Ruby also made certain that she jumped with as few jerks as possible so that Kinsley did not fall out of the saddle. The audience cheered tiny Kinsley as she hopped from one hurdle to the next on her favorite horse.

On Kinsley’s suggestion, the organizers opted to play her favorite song, “Let it Go,” from the Frozen soundtrack. Any adult would shiver at the sight of a 5-year-old girl jumping over hurdles on a large horse. Nonetheless, the serenity and confidence on her face would have dispelled any concerns.

With each jump, Kinsley and Ruby demonstrated that there was nothing to be concerned about. The 5-year-old girl was certain that her pet horse would not jump too high and cause Kinsley to fall.

Kinsley’s handling of Ruby was just amazing to witness. With each turn and jump, the little girl’s confidence grew by leaps and bounds. Kinsley stayed focused and resolute despite the crowd’s cheers.
